Camila A. Sakaguchi Olson, Ph.D., holds a doctorate in Physical Therapy from the Federal University of São Carlos, Brazil, with a focus in the cardiopulmonary field.
Her doctoral research focused on the effects of respiratory training using metabolomics-based analysis. Dr. Olson has authored over twenty peer-reviewed articles in high-impact scientific journals. In 2018, she was awarded a prestigious international government scholarship, which supported her tenure as a doctoral intern and short-term scholar at the Human Performance Laboratory at Appalachian State University. Upon completing her Ph.D. and subsequent clinical work in Brazil, she was appointed Research Manager of the Human Performance Laboratory. Her research interests center on identifying nutritional strategies to enhance human performance and support the resolution of post-exercise inflammation and oxidative stress, utilizing integrated multi-omics approaches.
